Freising and the surrounding area

The universituy town of Freising is located in the north of Munich not far from our hotel and enchants with the unique charm of the historic old town with many baroque and rococo buildings. The Mariendom, one ofe Freisng´s landmarks, towers over the old town from afar. But the cathedral ist not only impressive from the outside. Don´t miss the ornate interior either.

A walk through the Weihenstephan Gardens is not only worthwile for hobby gardeners and botanics: Here, on the site of the former Benedictiner monastery, ther are several stylishly laid out gardens. Afterwards, we advise aou to visit the oldes brewery with almost 1000 years old history, where you can take a look behind the scenes of beer brewering. Because there ist one thing you should not niss in Munich and the entire surrounding area: the beer.

The Bavarian capital Munich

… is about 30 kilometers away from Hetzenhausen. Thanks to the very good transport connections, it doesn´t take long until you are in the center of the city of Munich. Well-known excursion destinations such as the English-Garden, the Hofbräuhaus, the German Museum or the Frauenkirche, probably the most prominent landmark in Munich, await you here. In addtion, there is much more to discover and experience. Munich attracts with almost countless shopping opportunities, sights and musems.

During your visti to our hotel, we will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the various leisure activities in Munich and the surrounding area.

One of the most popular pastimes of our guests is cycling - a sporty and popular activity for which the entire region is ideal due to its scenic beauty and the multitude of destinations. For this reason, we are particularly proud to habe been awarded the certificate for bicycle-friendly hospitality in Februar 2019 and to habe been included in de ADFC+Bett+Bike directory. Our guests can not only make a relaxing and comfortable stop in our hotel in the Munich area as part of a longer bike trip, but can also use our house as a starting point for a large number of day or half-day bike tours.In the vicinity of Hetzenhausen and Neufahrn, there are tours of all levels of difficulty - both for relaxed leisure cyclists and for cyclists with greater sporting ambitions.

And back from an eventful excursion in the Munich area, you can end the day comfortably in our hotel. For example, stop for a cool beer in the shade of the chestnut trees in our idyllic beer garden. Or treat yourself to an exquisite liquer from our in-house-brandy factory in the light-flooded "Salettl" conservatory. In the tavern as well as in the winter garden we spoil you with seasonally changing regional dishes from our restaurant. When designing our dishes, we pay particular attention to using locally produced food. The majority of our food comes either from the hotel´s own garden and enclosure or from suppliers in the Munich area. We look forward to spoiling you with culinary deligths.
